The National Museum of Scotland underwent a massive refurbishment and improvement
program in 2011 and it has now expanded to having a total of 16 galleries, 8,000
exhibits and 6 levels.
The museum covers a number of different areas including science, geology, natural
history, technology past and present and art. There is something for everyone
here and some of the popular attractions include being able to race Jackie
Stewarts F1 car in a simulator, seeing dolly the sheep (the world first cloned
mammal) and seeing the oldest television model in the world.
The museum if free to enter and you can easily spend the best part of a day
exploring the many level inside, be sure not to miss the roof of the museum also
where you can enjoy some fantastic views of the city (on a sunny day anyway!).
