The National Gallery in Scotland is situated in the heart of Edinburgh, just off Princes Street and a few hundred years from the Royal Mile.The gallery is one of the most visited free attractions in the city and its has a large number of exhibits to view inside what is a magnificent building.

Famous artists which have work on display in the gallery include Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh and well known Scottish artist Horatio McCulloch.The museum is spread over mostly one large level but if you travel to the downstairs section there is an excellent selection of famous Scottish works of art from the likes of Ramsay and Raeburn.

The Gallery has some magnificent large portraits which fit in nicely with the buildings grand architecture. A couple of highlights include "Madonna and Child" by Don Lorenzo Monaco and A Woman in Bed and Self-Portrait by Rembrandt van Rijn.
